My short story, Grief, can be read in full  The Electric Discounter

Grief

By Merlene Fawdry
HoneysuckleHow can I tell you about life after that day? There are no words to describe the soul searing trauma associated with sudden, unexpected, violent death. It is an emotion beyond grief. A state of being that robs you of your sense of self and destroys your place in life, as you have known it, leaving in its wake the empty shell of an emotionally detached stranger. I have a distant memory of tears, that incessant deluge before my heart emptied itself for the last time, when people turned away because they, too, had no words to cover the occasion...

  1. Fortunately I have not known such grief. I have been lucky. Beautifully written story.
