Water

I suppose it seems odd using a writing blog to post pictures, however, there's an old saying, 'Every picture tells a story.' Rod Stewart knew it and wrote a song about it with Ronnie Wood. Photographers use pictures to tell the stories of people and society, customs and cultures, war and peace, and writers use pictures to create stories of truth or fiction. A picture can help overcome blank page syndrome, promote a theme, or kick start an idea into a novel. This picture was taken early this morning when watering the lawn and there are many stories to be written from this one scene; memories of childhood when water was free and sprinklers were an accepted part of summer, the quenching of thirst after a long period without rain or simply the small expression of life.
