3rd Triolet for August poetry challenge

1st draft

I walk between clouds to keep the sun on my face
Avoiding all shadows that are heavy with grief
Knowing days lost to darkness I can never replace
I walk between clouds to keep the sun on my face

I walk between clouds to keep the sun on my face
Avoiding all shadows that are heavy with grief

2nd draft

I walk between clouds to keep the sun on my face
Avoiding all shadows that are heavy with grief
Knowing days lost to darkness I can never replace
I walk between clouds to keep the sun on my face
Though thunderheads threaten to take up the chase
They cannot keep pace with my belief
I walk between clouds to keep the sun on my face
Avoiding all shadows that are heavy with grief

  1. I'd love to offer suggestions for the question marks but afraid its well beyond my skill level! I am caught up in the phrase 'walk between clouds' Captures the moment. By the way, I love the pic of the bird in the tree.

  2. Thank you, Lucia. The birds are in an elder tree in our front garden and visit everyday. I'd like to think it's our company they enjoy, but I suspect it's the seed we tempt them in with.
